Proprietary & Sales Trader (m/f/n)

Your tasks  

 

 

  • Together with colleagues in PST team you are responsible for the daily management and monitoring of all Proprietary & Sales Trading (PST) books and assets 
  • You assess, align and initiate trading transactions according to latest portfolio needs 
  • You define and assess proprietary trades to open new or keep existing speculative positions 
  • You take initiative for ad-hoc measures in case of unforeseen market development
  • You conduct price chart analysis and study fundamental data on all products and related financial markets to locate relevant market developments
  • You plan, execute, book, monitor and review speculative transactions accordingly in PST books
  • You comply with PST financial risk limits and you collaborate with the Market Risk department on booking processes
  • You strongly apply financial, statistical and programming knowledge to develop quantitative proprietary trading strategies and general quantitative trading approaches
  • You provide own innovation and ensure the implementation of daily operations
  • You develop by yourself and apply existing IT tools to follow up and steer portfolio and trading positions and market developments 
  • You prepare non-recurrent ad-hoc analyses to support Management or other teams on development of daily operations

 

 

 

Your profile

 

 

  • You hold a master’s degree in a quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Economics or similar)
  • You have a minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position 
  • You are result-oriented, and you have an analytical mindset
  • An additional training/certification (e.g. CFA, ERP) is a strong plus
  • High quantitative capability to assess and understand the versatile challenges of Hedging, Risk Management and Proprietary Trading techniques within core energy markets
  • Willingness and ability to take portfolio decisions with high P&L sensitivity
  • Solid IT skills (e.g. Reuters Eikon, Excel, VBA, Python, Matlab, or similar) 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English. The knowledge of German, French and/or Luxembourgish will be considered as an asset.
